Why am I doing this?

This is a question I ask at least once on just about every ride.  “Why am I doing this?”  It is usually asked on uphill terrain, when the air is hot and the sun is beating down, the lactic acid is burning and the lungs feel like raisins.  Why am I doing this?

I’m asking this question right now as I set up this blog.  I’m not a very good blogger.  I’ve tried it before.  I run out of things to say.  My schedule gets too busy.  I feel boring and un-creative (is that even a word?).

I’m doing it because it is good for me.  I hope it will keep me focused and free.  Focused on my riding, thinking about it, planning it, striving to be better.  And Free.  Free to notice all that is passing by and to enjoy the view.

I feel most free when I am riding…and I dare not lose that.

That’s why I’m doing this… riding and writing… because I want to be free!

Come, my friend.  Be free with me!  Let’s enjoy the ride!

    • Thanks Chris! I always appreciate the encouragement. I look forward to reading your blog and seeing where the bike takes you this year. Enjoy the Ride!

  1. Un-creative.

Ohh…it MUST be a word … it does not give me the red squiggly line beneath it nod nods.

Ok…a goofy way to introduce myself…but there you go *smiles*. I wanted to stop by and thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog post.
